This policy explains how Mothersoft Technologies ("Mothersoft", "we", "us"), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, handles personal data when you visit mothersoft.in, contact us, or work with us on a project. We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
If you use Motherhost hosting, domains or email, the Motherhost privacy policy applies to those services.
1. What we collect
When you visit this website
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from and what device they use. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address. We do not use it to identify you.
- Server logs: the site is hosted on Cloudflare, which records technical data such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
This website has no user accounts, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies beyond analytics.
When you contact us
Our contact form does not store anything on this website. It opens WhatsApp or your email app with your message filled in, and you choose whether to send it. We then receive what you send: usually your name, email address, phone number, company and project details. WhatsApp messages are also handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.
When we work on your project
- Contact and billing details, including GSTIN where you provide it, for proposals, invoices and tax records.
- Content and files you share for the project.
- Access to your accounts and systems (hosting, domain, app store, payment gateway). Your systems may hold personal data about your own customers; we use that only to do the work you asked for.
2. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare proposals.
- To deliver, support and invoice the work you engaged us for.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To improve this website, using analytics in aggregate.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not send marketing messages unless you ask for them.
3. AI tools
We use AI tools, mainly Claude by Anthropic, in our development work. Project materials such as specifications and code may be processed by these tools. We do not enter passwords, keys or personal data about your customers into AI prompts, and a Mothersoft developer reviews everything the tools produce.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers that help us run our business: Google (analytics), Cloudflare (website hosting), WhatsApp, Anthropic (AI tools) and our accountants.
- Payment providers and banks, to receive and refund payments.
- Government authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of these providers process data outside India. We use providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Invoices and accounting records: for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require.
- Project files and access: for the project and any maintenance plan. Access to your systems is removed when the work ends.
6. Security
We protect personal data with access controls, encrypted connections and password managers, and give team members access only to what their work needs. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects your personal data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it, where we no longer need it for a legal reason;
- withdraw consent you have given;
- nominate someone to act for you in case of death or incapacity.
You can also turn off analytics cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
8. Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
9. Grievance officer
For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer at sales@mothersoft.in or +91 98848 24733. We will acknowledge your request within 7 days and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the way we handle personal data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. See also our Terms of Service.
